HR Generalist – Training & Development Specialist

Job Description:

The HR Generalist – Training & Development Specialist will work within the HRT&C team to assist with general HR needs, while also identify and assess training and development needs within the company. Collaborating with Dept. Heads and supervisors to ascertain staff training needs. Partnering with the PEO Performance Specialist to focus on teaching specific areas of knowledge and on-the-job capabilities needed for positions within Voiant, assist with other HRT&C functional task, as well as being the point of contact for facility maintenance for the Waltham office.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Daily HR General task attending to employee needs
  • Identify and assess training needs within a company to develop, organize, evaluate and conduct training programs.
  • Create teaching materials and learning literature
  • Meet with dept. heads and supervisors to access training needs during onboarding and throughout employee development.
  • Conduct surveys to ascertain training needs, and effectiveness of provided training to access for ongoing improvements.
  • Partner with PEO using TLM system to coordinate training for employees for specific role, as well as company and departmental needs.
  • Direct structured learning experiences.
  • Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities, including presentations on learning material.
  • Train new hires as well as veteran employees by conducting orientation sessions to assess level of skills and training needs, as well as train employees on training and development platform.
  • Help employees improve upon or enhance existing skills.
  • Develop programs that groom lower-level employees for promotion level positions.
  • Periodically evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Provide onsite HR support withing the Waltham office
  • Performs other departmental activities as needed upon request.

Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of General HR experience with emphases in a training & development, or a combination of experience and educational background.
  • HR certifications and Research or Biotech related field experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Requires strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple competing tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Expertise in training administration and presentation
  • Ability to identify and assess training needs of personnel
  • Facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of training processes
  • Budgeting and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
